Sister M. Antonette Feldhake, OP, 81, died November 5 at the Dominican Sisters Motherhouse, Springfield.
Sr. Antonette was born to Fred and Minnie (Theis) Feldhake in Centralia, IL. She joined the Dominican Sisters in 1951.
“My purpose and greatest challenge in life is to learn and to live in a way that will make Christ come alive and be real for others,” Sr. Antonette once wrote. Over her lifetime she shared her gifts teaching and administering at Our Lady of Grace in Chicago and Marian High School in Chicago Heights; Sacred Heart Academy, Little Flower and Christ the King in Springfield; St. Mary in Litchfield; St. Thomas Aquinas in Hammond, LA and was administrative secretary to the prioress general. Sister served in pastoral ministry at St. Mary of the Assumption in Sainte Marie, IL.
Sr. Antonette was preceded in death by her parents and sisters Marie and Edna. She is survived by her sister Ruth, three nieces, two nephews and her Dominican Sisters with whom she lived and ministered for 57 years.
Visitation: Sacred Heart Convent Motherhouse, Nov 6. 3:30-7.
Vigil Service: 4:30. Funeral Mass: 7pm. Rev. Peter Witchousky OP, presider.
Final commendation/Burial: Calvary Cemetery, Nov 7, 10:30am.
