St. Dominic founded the Order "for preaching and the salvation of souls." (Fundamental Constitutions of the Domincan Order) While taking many different forms throughout history, our Dominican preaching has always been a ministry of the Word at the service of the Church. It's more than a task to be done. Whether our sisters are trained to preach formally during liturgies or retreats, or live the preaching life as a teacher, counselor, pastoral leader, or advocate for the poor, we are all preachers. We make Scripture the center of our spiritual life.
